We've been here in Texas for 4 days now and we've been having a wonderful time getting to know our new home! :)
I think the thing that we are most surprised about is the fact that the town outside of post is a REAL CITY... with amazing things like Target, Barnes & Noble, A MALL, numerous Starbucks, and every yummy restaurant you could ask for (McAlister's! we have a McAlister's!!!!). Every time we venture off post we marvel at all the new places we find. :)
Yesterday we took Ben to a place called Texas Tumblers where they offer free play for toddlers twice a week. Ben LOVED playing on all of the gymnastics equipment (and so did Albert! ;)). It was so nice for him to be able to run and play and get ALL his wiggles out! Afterwards we went over to Barnes & Noble for some coffee (and juice for Ben) and enjoyed reading and looking at children's books. For lunch we went to Chipotle, and then after lunch headed back to our room for some naps. There's SO MUCH to do here!! :)
Since it is such a big installation, we are truly blessed to have some friends here from FLW. It is so refreshing to see familiar faces in an unfamiliar place. Wednesday night we went over to our friends, the Seholm's, house and Ben had a great time playing with Garrett! They both share a love for Curious George, riding bikes, and drinking juice. Total BFFs. ;) Kristin and I had a great time talking and playing with the kids while Erik showed Albert around post. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in their beautiful home and can't wait until we are their neighbors again!! :)
Speaking of... we are currently in the hotel on post and are still looking at a move-in date at the beginning of May. We are anxiously awaiting getting our house, and we are SO ready to have all our household goods (namely, all of the kids toys!) and we can't wait to have a backyard for Ben (and Sallie) to run and play in! :) I'm sure that after living so cramped together for over a month we will truly appreciate our new home when we get it! :)
