Life in our hotel

We are so grateful to be on such a big installation located near such a big town, with lots of things to explore, because our hotel room can get VERY SMALL very fast.

I'm not gonna lie. It's pretty ghetto. Ah, the price we pay to have our beloved dog with us. (See Sallie, we do love you after all!)

It's the hardest on nights like tonight when Bella is fast asleep in her Pack-n-Play, and Ben has a surge of energy and is laughing hysterically and gettin' rowdy. On top of all that, Albert and I would like to watch some of our TV shows together, but that's not gonna happen with Sleeping Beauty and Wild Man McGhee.

Ben has become accustomed to having the MacBook to watch Curious George on every night...

...so that usually leaves Albert and I with the hotel's little 19" TV on mute. Ho hum. :-\

We have some interesting neighbors as well. I went to check to see if the communal washers and dryers were being used before toting our laundry down there and I ran into quite a character. After I explained I was just checking on the status of the washers, and I was on my way to put my children to bed, she decided to share her life's story with me, on top of all her recent woes and medical issues. WOW. I listened politely, and I realize sometimes people just need an ear, but I mean really, the things strangers share with me sometimes just blows my mind.

The kids are making the best of it though. Bella enjoys trying to roll off the bed as fast as she can before one of us dashes across the room to catch her, and Ben enjoys getting into the mini fridge and sneaking sips of his juice and opening up slices of cheese. They have the most fun of all, though, when they are together. Today while Bella was playing in her Pack-n-Play Ben went and got his stool and climbed right in there with her!

They are so sweet!! They do play together nicely for the most part, but inevitably there's always something...

Yeah, I'm pretty sure she's biting him. He's a good sport though. ;)

Well, Ben has finally drifted to sleep (to the sounds of David Crowder Band) so I'm going to wrap this up and hopefully Albert and I can catch up on some TV via hulu.com! :)
